Who is this course for?

This is the most popular advanced first aid qualification. The Level 3 First Responder qualification is the course of choice for Close Protection Officers, Medics in Hostile Environments and Security Officers responsible for protecting critical infrastructure. Th to ensure they are meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations

The Level 3 First Responder course is ideal for those for those working in high threat and risk environments as close protection officers, Residential Security, Security Drivers, Security Advance Party, team medics.

This qualification is available to those over 16 years. Candidates should be at least a level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent.

Course Content

  • Ø  Understand the role and responsibilities of a first responder
  • Ø  Understand the principles of scene management
  • Ø  Know how to minimize the risk to oneself due to poor manual handling techniques
  • Ø  Be able to undertake basic casualty assessment and monitoring
  • Ø  Be able to assess and manage a casualty who is unresponsive
  • Ø  Be able to support a casualty with suitable airway management techniques
  • Ø  Be able to recognize and manage a casualty with a minor injury
  • Ø  Be able to manage a casualty who has a catastrophic bleed
  • Ø  Know how to recognize and manage a casualty who is in shock
  • Ø  Know how to recognize and manage common trauma related injuries
  • Ø  Know how to recognize and manage a range of medical emergencies
  • Ø  Know how to recognize and manage a casualty affected by heat or cold
  • Ø  Be able to perform basic life support procedures on a pediatric casualty
