This is the most popular first aid qualification. The Three (3) days First aid at work qualification is the choice of many employers to ensure they are meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations

The Level 3 First Aid at Work (RQF) is ideal for those employers that need to meet the minimum requirement of first aid regulations; typically those working in shops, offices and other low risk environments.

This qualification is available to those over 16 years. Candidates should be at least a level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent.

Unit 1

  • Ø  Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Ø  Be able to assess an incident
  • Ø  Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
  • Ø  Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Ø  Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
  • Ø  Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
  • Ø  Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries

Unit 2

  • Ø  Be able to conduct a secondary survey
  • Ø  Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Ø  Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
  • Ø  Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
  • Ø  Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
  • Ø  Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
  • Ø  Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
  • Ø  Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
  •     Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
